All the local One Act Play Festivals feed the All England Theatre Festival, and offer numerous awards and prizes for excellence both acting and backstage craft. Of course, in true Hollywood tradition there are also a number of nominations for each...

Gloucestershire One Act Play Festival

Youth Winners - Deliver Us Not will represent Gloucestershire in the Five Counties Youth Drama final in Rangeworthy on 25th April

Best Youth Actor - Emma James (Deliver Us Not)

Adjudicator's Award - Oldland Players for contribution to the festival (3 out of 7 plays entered).

Best Actress Nominations - Kit Johnson (Sins of the Father), Chris Cooke and Christine Haggar (Effie's Burning)

Best Actor Nominations - Andrew Muffett (Sins of the Father)

Best Technical Nomination - Sins of the Father for set.

With Deliver Us Not making a clean sweep of the three festivals, it was decided that, to maximise the entrants to the Five Counties Final,  Hannah, Danny and Emma would represent Gloucestershire at Rangeworthy on 25th April.

We were unaware that the Cheltenham Festival is now part of a new Western Area Division called 'Mercia'. To our surprise, Sins if the Father went through to the AETF quarter final for Mercia which was held in Pewsey on 18th April.

Two excellent performances but sadly neither play took top spot.
