One Act Plays

The Oldland Players regularly compete in the local rounds of the All England Theatre Festival, where in the past we have had considerable success. For the 2008 season we presented 'Spectrum 6', by T O'Ruairc and directed by Kit Johnson. The Oldland Youth presented 'Garbage' by Helen Wingard. Both met with success, with Garbage going through to the Five Counties Festival in Pewsey Spectrum 6 representing Gloucestershire in the Central Division final in Clevedon. We also picked up silverware for Best Costume (Spectrum 6, Bristol), Best Director (Kit Johnson, Gloucestershire) and Best Youth Actor (Hannah Johnson, Cheltenham), plus numerous award nominations.
