Founded in 1967 the Oldland Players are a group in the Bristol area, who've been creating quality community theatre for over 50 years.
Synopsis
The setting for this comedy murder mystery is as creepy an old library as you’re likely to come across, presided over by a portrait of a maniacal old man. There, a grim faced lawyer delivers the details of a will, bequeathing several million pounds to the various members of an equally sinister family. One is kept in the cellar because of his were wolf tendencies; another wanders around in a toga believing himself to be Julius Caesar, whilst a third is an apparently gentle old lady who makes interesting home-made wine and plants more than seeds in her flower beds!
Also present is a stranger, unknown to any members of the family, an author of romantic novels for women, together with her secretary. Who is she and what is her connection with the deceased? As is usual in these situations, the beneficiaries are gradually killed off in an increasingly bizarre series of murders until, by the third act, there are more corpses than live members left in the cast. Who is behind the killings and where are the missing millions? All is revealed as the plot twists and turns to its surprising conclusion.
