Oldland Village Club

The Oldland Player's usual venue is the upstairs function room at the Oldland Village Club which is a great and homely venue for our audiences, but a theatre it is not. Before we can start our final rehearsals we first need to build our set. This is generally at least a day's work and is a great example of the whole society pulling together as we regularly get members from the group who aren't involved in the up-coming production popping along to lend a hand.

We taken to taking some photos to show how we transform the room from a function room to 1950s Venice or backstage in the West End.

St Anne's Church Hall

For the some previous productions (most recently June 2016) we moved from our traditional venue at the Oldland club. Before we could concentrate fully on the production, we had to do a bit of work on the venue, a short hop down the road at St Anne's  Church Hall. It's a great little venue, but needed a bit of TLC to brighten it up ready for the show so we turned up one weekend to give it a lick of paint and a general spruce up.

It was a great example of having "all hands on deck" and in true Oldland Player's spirit it turned a chore into an enjoyable and reasonably quick afternoon. With everyone joining in the whole thing took only c4hrs.

We even found time to take a few pictures of everybody hard at work.
