After the success of the group's 2019 entry, The Oldland Players are delighted to perform again at The Bristol One Act Drama Festival, and The Avon One Act Drama Festival, this year with a pair of entries, "Beyond the White Noise" by Steven A.Shapiro and "The Allotment" by Gillian Plowman
Beyond the White Noise:
Peter is waiting to meet his new therapist, but another patient in the waiting room is insistent on talking to him. The two souls work out their issues.

The Allotment:
Five women are serving community punishment orders and are growing the vegetables for soup kitchens on an allotment. Marcie is convicted of dangerous driving; Norah, a serial shoplifter; Belle has blackmailed her boss and Lorna, an actress, is convicted of criminal damage. It is the first morning for Daisy, the new probation officer, and the tables are cleverly turned when a traumatic event in her past puts her on a par with the others.

The first performances were at the The Olympus Theatre in Bristol on Wednesday 19th February as part of the Bristol One Act Drama Festival and continued our positive record
For Beyond the White Noise we came away with:

3rd place overall

The 'Les Soloman Memorial Trophy' for best decore (including lighting and sound)
We were also came away with nominations for:

Steve Coles - Best Actor
Because of finishing 3rd we will be going through to the semi-finals on Saturday 9th May at the Merlin Theatre, Frome, BA11 2HG

The second performances were at Chipping Sodbury Town Hall on Saturday 29th Feb, as part of the Avon Drama One Act Festival, where we had another successful evening.
For Beyond the White Noise we came away with:
