Latest Production

Never let it be said that the Oldland Players like a quiet life. Following on from our highly successful Murder Mystery Evening "Cassandra - or Who Pinched the Pooch", and ahead of our next full production in summer, details of which will follow soon, we are involved in the latest rounds of the All England Theatre Festival. We are presenting Act I of Noel Coward's classic comedy of manners "Private Lives".

The first performance was at the The Olympus Theatre in Bristol on Saturday 19th February as part of the Bristol One Act Drama Festival, where we had a very successful evening.

We came away with prizes for:

  • Best Actress - Lisa Stapleton

  • Best Costume - Oldland Players

We were also nominated for:

  • Best Set Decor - Daniel Johnson

  • Best Director - Daniel Johnson

and came away with 2nd place overall for Best Play

We then moved on to a matinee at Iron Acton Parish Hall on Saturday 25th February as part of the Avon One-Act Drama Festival. Here we had another successful day.

This time we came away with the prize for:

  • Best Actress "The Priory Plate" - Lisa Stapleton

and were also nominated for:

  • Best Supporting Performance - Daniel Johnson

  • Best Costume - Oldland Players

So with three awards, four other nominations and one second place overall this was a very successful festival entry and everyone involved should be very pleased.
