The Oldland Players are delighted to perform again at The Bristol One Act Drama Festival, and The Avon Short Play Festival, this year with an entry "Wakey Wakey" written by one of our own members, Sarah Marks.

We join Mary, Ang, Kate and Roger at the wake of Mavis Marshall. The question is, how they all came to be at the wake, and how did they know Mavis?

The first performance was held at The Olympus Theatre in Bristol, on Saturday 21st February at 7pm, as part of the Bristol One Act Drama Festival.

We received a very good adjudication, highlighting a number of excellent points with regard to characterisation and staging, but what was most pleasing was the mention of how it was a real ensemble piece and how the guests played a vital, but non-intrusive role.

The adjudicator only gave nominations for the acting roles, so we don't don't know where we might have ranked elsewhere, but we did receive two acting nominations.

Best Supporting Actress: Kit Muffett (Nomination)

Best Supporting Actor: Rod Lovell (Nomination)

The second performance will be held at Chipping Sodbury on Friday 20th March 2026 7.30pm, as part of the Avon Short Play Festival

Please purchase any tickets direct from the Oldland Players (Tel: 0117 932 5882) as we have a quota that we need to sell as participating members of the festivals.
